We choose our key areas based on a few key points – architecture, transport links, social pursuits, schools and green spaces. We started off in 1991 in a basement in Peckham which has stunning examples of architecture. A stroll along Lyndhurst Way and Square for example is sure to start a fire within your stomach – many of the homes are fine examples of architecture with the very best gifted a Grade II Listed status.
Branching further west and you’ll stumble into Camberwell. We had a very stunning office on Grove Lane, in the old Camberwell Hall, which really helped our connection with the area and our neighbours. It has a plaque dated 1748 and was originally built as the assembly room for The Grove House Tavern before moving on to a social hub of the middle classes.
Did you know Camberwell even has its own butterfly? Aptly named Nymphalis antiopa.
Many of our staff have children that are in the local schools. If you’re after big gardens, bigger houses and good schools, then Brockley, Sydenham and Forest Hill are worth checking out. At the top of Sydenham Hill, many of the houses have fantastic views towards Kent and the South Downs whilst the London Overground tube connection has made this entire patch of south-London very popular.
Back in the summer of 2013, an opportunity arose for us to move to a swanky office in Nunhead. We have always chosen unique and unusual spaces for our headquarters and this abode has huge metal framed windows, a sweeping curved wall and sophisticated wood cladding. Its sits just north of Nunhead Green, on the west corner junction of Nunhead Green itself and Gordon Road, in between the Old Nun’s Head pub and Nunhead library. Whispers were beginning to spread about this wonderful little pocket of SE15 – various café’s and bistros were opening up, the schools were getting good Ofsted ratings and with such good connections to Peckham Rye and Camberwell, we knew it wouldn’t be long before the area was flooded with cheery neighbours and happy children. We were officially the first Estate Agent to set up shop here.
